Roll out your mats and join us in this interactive event at the London Bridge Hotel. Get involved in some simple exercises to teach your patients and network with Helen and her colleagues from Complete Pilates, as they demonstrate and help you understand how Pilates can be used for recovery.
Don’t miss out on this face-to-face event in London. This talk won’t be recorded, and spaces are limited!
We advise you to bring your own mats, however, if you do require one, please let us know as soon as possible.
Helen will start by providing a background on Pilates; how it can be used and what is best used for. A key aspect of Pilates is it’s known to help athletes recover from their injuries - Helen will be explaining why it.
Sometimes surgery may be needed for sports injuries, so Helen will be delving into why Pilates is a good option to help with the body after an operation.
Every person’s body is unique, Helen will be showing you how to modify the exercises, to adapt with different athletes and help them reach their goals.
There are different ways Pilates can be performed. It can be as simple as on a mat or with equipment. Helen will be discussing the pros and cons for each method, so you can understand which works but for what.
This talk will end with discussing some case studies to see the results of using Pilates for rehabilitation.

Physiotherapist | London
Helen is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Director of Complete Pilates – a physio led Pilates company based in London and online. Helen has worked in professional sport within London Wasps men’s rugby where she worked within a world class multidisciplinary team. This was where her love of Pilates was born and in 2010 completed her Polestar Pilates Comprehensive training. This is currently one of the only worldwide recognised qualification in Pilates and she used this as an adjunct to her treatment of acute injury and recovery.
After spending three years in elite rugby, Helen quite literally packed up her bags and ran away to join the circus, accepting a position with Cirque Du Soleil. As one of only two Physiotherapists on the show, she taught Pilates as part of performer’s ongoing maintenance treatment, to prevent injuries and as part of active rehabilitation. Pilates helped the performers, from tumblers to contortionists, remain strong and healthy throughout a gruelling schedule of up to ten shows a week.
After returning to London in 2015, Helen set up Complete Pilates as a way of helping people be active immediately after injury, surgery or pregnancy.
Admission to course, 2 hours CPD, light refreshments, Certificate of Attendance.
Please let us know any dietary requirements by no later than midday on Thursday 6th October.
