In the first half of the course, Mr Chana covers painful conditions of the hip. He discusses the implications of adolescent sports in skeletal development and injury prevention programmes, as well as how to avoid the usual pitfalls of common hip injuries.

In the second half, the talk focuses on pathology and prevention of lower limb injuries, from the hip down to the foot and heel. This includes greater trochanteric pain syndrome, trochanteric bursitis, ITB frictional pain and causes of foot & heel pain. Dr Chana also takes us through updates in the sportsperson’s hernia, as well as adductor-related issues.

Mr Chana concludes with an overview of the latest joint preservation biological repair techniques, focusing on the hip for femoro-acetabular impingement, as well as bridging the osteoarthritis gap.
