Mark is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hands & wrists. He was an NHS Consultant at King’s College Hospital from 2003-2015 where he was Ortho-Plastics lead, Governance lead for Major Trauma and had a research interest in fracture healing. He left the NHS in 2015 to concentrate on his private practice at London Sports Orthopaedics, where he is a Partner and Medical Director.
Mark trained at Cambridge University. He is Fellowship trained in Hand Surgery, Trauma and Limb Reconstruction which he completed at the University of Pisa, Italy and the Plastic Surgery Department of Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. He finished his senior orthopaedic training at King’s College Hospital. He is an enthusiastic, skilled and popular teacher who enjoys teaching students at all levels - from medical students to consultants. He lectures annually at King’s College London FRCS (Tr&Orth) Revision Course.
Mark specialises in treating musicians with hand & wrist problems and is one of the UK’s leading experts in treating patients working within the performing arts industry. He has a regular clinic at the British Association for Performance Arts Medicine (BAPAM). He enjoys art and music and is a keen amateur jazz trumpet player.
