Free Webinar: Marathon Injuries for Marathon Runners

Marathon running has increased in popularity exponentially over the last 15-20 years. Whilst this means improved cardiovascular health, amongst other benefits, it also means increased likelihood of running injuries.

If you or someone you know takes part in Marathon running, make sure to join us for this free, interactive public webinar. Consultant in Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine, Dr Anthony Waring, will be looking at the most common running related injuries and problems, how you can avoid them and your options if you do injure yourself.

We will be assessing the types of lower limb injuries you can get, including “runners’ knee”, tendinitis and exercise associated or related leg pain (ERLP), often referred to as the generic term “shin splints”. We will also be discussing what to look out for and how to train and run to avoid injury. Lastly, we will be exploring who to see with your problem, and your treatment options.

This talk is aimed at the public. If you are a healthcare practitioner, you may want to recommend this talk to your patients who are running the Marathon, or who have running injuries. You are also welcome to book on, but you may also want to join us for our more comprehensive and medical 2 hour CPD talk with Dr Waring on Wednesday 26th July: Webinar: Marathon Overuse Injuries of the Lower Limb - Diagnosis to Recovery.

We will send you an email with instructions to register and gain access to the webinar 'room' closer to the time.
