Oryon Develop are excited to announce our return to Surrey for our second orthopaedic masterclass in Reigate, featuring 7 brilliant consultants from North Downs Hospital.

Topics will range from diagnosing and managing strokes to spinal conditions, and will cover almost the whole body, from neurological diagnosis to bunions and everything in between. Attendees will leave with enhanced knowledge of specific orthopaedic topics and 8.5 hours of CPD.

Hot topics in ACL injury management, by Mr Bobby Anand, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Bobby Anand is a fantastic speaker whose lectures are always popular with attendees. We’re excited to have him back for this event, where he will be speaking on the latest updates on management of ACL injuries. Mr Anand is an expert in operative and non-operative management of knee injuries and will share his fascinating insight with a focus on the ACL. He will also explore the new options open to AHPs who are looking to refer patients onward, including robot surgery.


Approaches to neurological diagnosis, by Dr Dennis Chan, Consultant Neurologist

Dr Chan is a fantastic speaker who we are very pleased to have speak at our event. His talk will focus on neurological disorders, with a particular focus on strokes. Often, rehabilitation of stroke victims falls to allied health professionals, so it’s important that they are well-versed in managing patients with up-to-date methods.


Treatment Duration in Osteoporosis, by Dr Rizwan Rajak, Consultant Rheumatologist

Dr Rajak has designed this course to explore best practice in osteoporosis treatment, with a focus on the importance of the 5 year review, bisphosphonate risks, supplements and when to refer. As a highly sought-after Rheumatologist, Dr Rajak has many years of experience in cooperative management of osteoporosis alongside allied health professionals. His depth of knowledge will be very useful to attendees who see patients with diagnosed or un-diagnosed osteoporosis.


Common Spinal Conditions and their Management, by Mr Praveen Inaparthy, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Inaparthy is at the forefront of new treatment methods for spinal conditions and has designed his talk to explore their modern management. He will focus particularly on degenerative disc disease, giving attendees an expansive insight into his own diagnostic workup when patients present with spinal conditions.


Presentation of Common Conditions in Hand and Upper Limb, by Mr Ali Shafighian, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Shafighian has put this talk together to explore the latest developments in diagnosis and management of these conditions. He will share his own diagnostic workup to better inform attendees’ own practise, as well as his insight into conservative treatment. 


Evidence-based keyhole bunion surgery - plus rapid recovery keyhole sports foot and ankle surgery, by Mr Kumar Kunasingam, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Kunasingam is a foot and ankle surgeon with a huge amount of experience in management of bunions and sports injuries. He has designed this talk with a focus on keyhole surgery, including cooperative management with his allied health professional peers. Attendees will leave this talk confident in when to onward refer their patients with foot and ankle conditions, and what conservative measures they can take in their management. They will also benefit from Mr Kunasingam’s knowledge of post-operative rehab.


Custom made hip replacement, by Mr Paul Jairaj, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr Jairaj will take attendees through all the latest things you need to know about the hip, from impingement to replacement. This talk will cover up-to-date treatment options for treatment options, including conservative prehab and post-surgery rehab. Mr Jairaj will draw on real life case studies to highlight the benefits and risks of hip replacements and will compare and contrast the uses of all the latest options for hip treatment.

Mr Bobby Anand is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialism in knee surgery.


Dr Dennis Chan is a Consultant Neurologist with subspeciality expertise in the diagnosis and management of memory disorders, Alzheimer's disease and other diseases causing dementia.


Dr Rizwan Rajak is a Consultant Rheumatologist who has specialised in osteoporosis. He is an accomplished speaker, regularly lecturing to his peers in healthcare.


Mr Praveen Inaparthy is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialism in spinal pathology. He is the Lead Author on the guidelines prepared on management of DVT in spinal surgery.


Mr Ali Shafighian is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder problems. He works in hand and upper limb surgery at a number of NHS hospitals and in other private practices.


Mr Kumar Kunasingam is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a subspeciality in foot and ankle conditions. His background as a medically qualified and surgically trained sub-specialist in both orthopaedics and sports medicine allows him to holistically manage all aspects of foot and ankle problems.


Mr Paul Jairaj is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who has specialised in hip and knee conditions.
