The Modern Management of Tendinopathy: The Smorgasbord Approach

Dr Jon Houghton, Consultant in Sports Medicine and Rheumatology, has designed this evening course to outline the diagnosis and management of common tendinopathies focussing on the achilles tendon.

He will contrast traditional treatment techniques with the latest evidence-based therapies including exercise therapy, medication, injection therapy and Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT). He will conclude with a practical approach to the multimodal management of what can be a chronic and challenging condition.

Dr Houghton will also discuss how new imaging techniques including UTC (Ultrasound Tissue Characterisation) influences his decision making process.
