There are many potential causes of radiculopathy, including poor lifting technique and back injuries. Mr Chris Brown, Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon, will discuss nerve root compression as originating in the spine; focusing on sciatica and brachialgia.
He will discuss the most common aetiologies behind radiculopathies including disc collapse and spinal injury, as well as techniques that can be utilised to avoid radiculopathies.
The evening will conclude with surgical treatment options and the differing techniques available. The audience will gain a clear understanding of the role of injections and surgery in these patients, and how to manage these patients following intervention. This should enable delegates to deal with these common conditions with improved understanding and to treat their patients with greater confidence.
