David Choi

Professor David Choi is UCL professor of neurosurgery, NHS base at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and private practice at Queen Square and the Wellington Hospital. 

He qualified in Cambridge and Edinburgh, and underwent neurosurgical training in Glasgow and London prior to consultant appointment in 2005. He specialises in spine and skull base surgery, including conservative management of simple back and neck pain, nerve root compression and age-related conditions, through to spine surgery for discs and nerve compression, and if required, more extensive surgery for degenerative conditions, tumours or inflammation of the spine. 

For common back and neck problems, surgery can usually be avoided, however in some patients surgery can be life-changing.
