Saturday 8th May:

Mr Rupen Dattani, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialises in shoulder and elbow surgery. He has always had a strong research ethic and believes that the high quality of medical care we enjoy today has only been achieved through well controlled research.


Mr Pinak Ray, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, provides a state of the art foot and ankle service in the NHS and the Private sector. He is also keen on research. Mr Ray’s main interest is in surgery for arthritis in the foot and ankle.


Mr Simon Mellor, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, has worked in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery since 1996. He has experience in computer navigation and patient-specific jigs for knee replacement surgery. He also has an interest in accelerated rehabilitation after joint replacement surgery.


Saturday 15th May: 

Mr Bob Chatterjee is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Chief of Spinal Surgery at The Hospital of St John’s & St Elizabeth's and Spinal Development Lead at The London Clinic. He is also Clinical Director of Harley Street Spine.


Mr Peter Domos is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon providing a full comprehensive shoulder and elbow service for degenerative disorders, sport injuries and complex trauma. He specialises in shoulder and elbow arthroscopy (keyhole), open joint reconstruction and joint replacement.


Mr Joyti Saksena is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and his clinical practice lies in hip and knee replacement, complex primary hip replacement and revision hip and knee replacement. He has a keen interest in joint preservation surgery of the hip and knee and undertakes procedures to try and prevent the need for joint replacement particularly in the younger patient.

Simon Mellor

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon | London

Mr Mellor qualified in 1992 from Manchester University Medical School. He has worked in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery since 1996. In 2003-4, he undertook an Orthopaedic Fellowship in Melbourne Australia, specialising in hip and knee surgery. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK). Mr Mellor has gained experience in computer navigation and patient-specific jigs for knee replacement surgery. He also has an interest in accelerated rehabilitation after joint replacement surgery.

Mr Mellor is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon for Barnet and Chase Farm NHS trust, with trauma commitments at Barnet General, elective operating at Chase Farm and Outpatient clinics at Finchley Memorial Hospital. He has now joined the Orthopaedic faculty of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

Pinak Ray

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon | London

Mr Pinak Ray’s career in medicine started in India in 1984. He finished MBBS and soon decided to pursue a career in Orthopaedic surgery. He successfully completed this thesis and was awarded the Masters degree in Orthopaedics. He decided to broaden his experience and came over to England in 1994.

Mr Ray joined the faculty in Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust in 2004 as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. He has been in this post for more than 13 years and has gained extensive experience in his fields of expertise: in foot and ankle surgery and sports injuries.

Mr Ray provides a state of the art foot and ankle service in the NHS and the Private sector.

He is also keen on research. Mr Ray’s main interest is in surgery for arthritis in the foot and ankle. He is also in the international faculty for a unique devise to achieve fusion of foot joints and get invited to speak and demonstrate all over the world.

Mr Ray has always been fascinated by the intricacies and the dynamic nature of Orthopaedic surgery and knew this was what he wanted to work in from an early age. Through hard work and after 18 total years of training he became a Consultant. Mr Ray enjoys the everyday healing of patients and the rapport he builds with patients every day.

Mr Ray says: “experiencing my patients’ journey from despair to recovery is what makes me love my career.”

Joyti Saksena

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon | London

Mr Saksena has been a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon since 2009. His role in medical education started in 2010, initially as a Training lead in orthopaedics before expanding to the wider role of all post-graduate medical education as Director of Medical Education at Barnet & Chase Farm hospitals and Royal Free Hospital.

He undertook his medical training in Scotland and graduated with honours in 1995. He underwent his initial surgical training in the UK and Australia before embarking on his specialist orthopaedic training on the prestigious Royal London Hospital rotation.

Joyti Saksena’s clinical practice lies in hip and knee replacement, complex primary hip replacement and revision hip and knee replacement. He has a special interest in the management of infected joint replacements. He performs arthroscopic knee surgery and soft tissue knee reconstruction including anterior cruciate ligament and medial patella-femoral ligament reconstruction. He has a keen interest in joint preservation surgery of the hip and knee and undertakes procedures to try and prevent the need for joint replacement particularly in the younger patient.

He currently practices as part of Total Orthopaedics, based out of Highgate Hospital. Peter Domos

Consultant Trauma And Orthopaedic Surgeon | London

Mr Peter Domos is double-fellowship trained (United Kingdom and France) Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialty interest in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust in London, United Kingdom.  


Mr Domos provides general trauma and full comprehensive shoulder and elbow services for degenerative disorders, sport injuries and complex trauma. His specialist interests are in shoulder and elbow arthroscopy, open joint reconstruction and joint replacement.


He is an active British Elbow and Shoulder Society (BESS), British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) and European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC/ESSSE) member. He was awarded the winner of the BESS Travelling Fellowship 2014, as well as the Paul Calvert Research Paper Prize, the ISAKOS Upper Limb Travelling Fellowship 2016 and several other international and national awards. In addition to his year-long fellowship in France, he has also visited several other leading shoulder and elbow surgeons in Europe (18 surgeons across 6 countries).


Mr Domos is a keen teacher and trainer of GPs, physiotherapists, junior doctors and orthopaedic trainees. He is one of the course convenor of the ORUK London Shoulder and Elbow FRCS(Orth) course. He is also a member of the Watanabe Club, which is a group of shoulder surgeons with unified interest in sharing experiences and techniques to the next generation. He is consistently involved in research (which has led to an MD degree), with several publications in peer-review journals, book chapters and annual presentations at various scientific meetings. To maintain his professional development, he regularly attends and teaches (as Faculty member) at national and international courses, to keep his knowledge and skills up-to-date.


In recognition of his clinical and research contributions he was elected as a Member of the Committee of the prestigious European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow, alongside world-renowned surgeons.

Bob Chatterjee

Bob Chatterjee

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon | London

Mr Chatterjee graduated from Guy’s & St Thomas’s Hospital, London, initially training in spinal surgery at Oxford. He was awarded a Culyer Foundation research grant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore where his research into bone regeneration gained a distinction.


He was awarded a joint Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic Spinal Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was appointed as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon in 2011 with an exclusively spinal practice undertaking all forms of adult spinal surgery. Among many achievements, he is a spinal advisor to the National Health Service, is a consultant editor of several spinal periodicals and reviews spinal papers for the JBJS amongst other journals. He is a tutor for minimally invasive spinal surgery and has a particular passion for training junior spinal surgeons. He is President of Orthopaedics at the Royal Society of Medicine and is both a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons, where he resides on the education committee, and the North American Spine Society. He has been featured in several national newspaper articles for his expertise in spinal surgery.


Mr Chatterjee is Chief of Spinal Surgery at The Hospital of St John’s & St Elizabeth's and Spinal Development Lead at The London Clinic. He is also Clinical Director of Harley Street Spine.

Rupen Dattani

Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon | London

Mr Dattani has completed two prestigious fellowships in shoulder and elbow surgery, one working with Mr. Graham Tytherleigh-Strong in Cambridge and the other at the internationally renowned Reading Shoulder Unit working with Professor Ofer Levy. Mr Dattani has also completed a trauma fellowship at a Level I trauma centre in Vancouver, Canada. These fellowships have provided Mr Dattani with a highly specialised clinical practice, exclusively in shoulder and elbow arthroscopic and arthroplasty surgery as well as surgery for fractures around the shoulder and elbow joints. Mr Dattani has always had a strong research ethic and believes that the high quality of medical care we enjoy today has only been achieved through well controlled research. Mr Dattani has published over 20 articles in peer reviewed journals and has presented his work at both national and international conferences. His main research interests are in assessing patient outcomes following shoulder surgery.
