Joyti Saksena

Mr Saksena has been a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon since 2009. His role in medical education started in 2010, initially as a Training lead in orthopaedics before expanding to the wider role of all post-graduate medical education as Director of Medical Education at Barnet & Chase Farm hospitals and Royal Free Hospital.

He undertook his medical training in Scotland and graduated with honours in 1995. He underwent his initial surgical training in the UK and Australia before embarking on his specialist orthopaedic training on the prestigious Royal London Hospital rotation.

Joyti Saksena’s clinical practice lies in hip and knee replacement, complex primary hip replacement and revision hip and knee replacement. He has a special interest in the management of infected joint replacements. He performs arthroscopic knee surgery and soft tissue knee reconstruction including anterior cruciate ligament and medial patella-femoral ligament reconstruction. He has a keen interest in joint preservation surgery of the hip and knee and undertakes procedures to try and prevent the need for joint replacement particularly in the younger patient.

He currently practices as part of Total Orthopaedics, based out of Highgate Hospital. Total Orthopaedics are a multispecialty orthopaedic service where all specialists are committed to patient-focused care.
