Caspar strongly believes that empowering patients to do the right things to help themselves is crucially important in providing effective spinal care. He emphasises the importance of treating patients not just MRI scans. Caspar considers surgery, and especially spinal fusion, a last resort.
Caspar runs a very popular ‘One-Stop’ spine clinic where patients are assessed, imaged and diagnosed within two hours. This is really convenient for patients avoiding multiple visits. Caspar writes comprehensive clinic letters to everyone involved in a patients care providing clear direction. He provides many second opinions where patients have become frustrated and dissatisfied with an apparent lack of care and advice.
Caspar performs all spinal procedures from injections and denervation techniques through to complex surgeries from neck to coccyx. His expertise includes MIS, micro-discectomy and laser discectomy, Balloon Kyphoplasty, dynamic stabilisation including disc replacement, and fusion. He specialises in day case spinal surgery which is unique in London. More than 95% of his patients go home on the same day after surgery, even fusion cases.
Caspar loves teaching, from prospective sixth form medical students in schools to International Spine conferences abroad. He is a Faculty Trainer for several spine techniques including Balloon Kyphoplasty and dynamic stabilisation and is regularly invited to talk Internationally on spinal biomechanics.
