Sonja Cerovac is an experienced Consultant Plastic Surgeon with sub-specialist’s interest in hand and wrist surgery. She has been working at St George’s Hospital, major regional trauma centre since 2008 so her NHS work is dominated by the management of a large number of hand injuries and complex elective and traumatic conditions requiring input at tertiary level of care. Sonja is actively involved in teaching and training of the next generation of doctors and is currently a Lead clinician for the Department of Plastic Surgery.
Miss Cerovac completed The South Thames Plastic Surgery rotation in 2007, having obtained a postgraduate research degree (Master in Surgical Science) from the University of London in 1999 in the field of flexor tendon surgery.
Sonja practice spans almost the entire spectrum of hand and wrist disorders - from microsurgical reconstruction of soft tissue to wrist arthroscopy and carpal surgery. She developed a rather unique combination of plastic and orthopedics skills over the years, facilitated by the fellowships at Windsor Hand Clinic and Wrightington Hospital in 2008.
She covers general aspects of plastic surgery too, such as complex wound and scar management, skin cancer and aesthetic surgery. Mixing the finesse of microsurgery, artistry of cosmetic surgery and creativity of hand surgery offers her patients distinctive expertise and much appreciated clinical outcomes.
