Where are your X-ray clinics located?

Our private X-ray service is available at our Wimpole Street clinic in central London’s Harley Street medical district, a short walk from Oxford Circus and Bond Street stations.

Our X-ray service is available Monday to Saturday, 10am–6pm. You can book ahead or walk in with a referral from a qualified healthcare professional.

We work closely with orthopaedic knee specialists, physiotherapists and sports medicine clinics across London to support fast diagnosis and onward care.

What is an X-ray?
An X-ray is a quick, painless imaging test that uses a small amount of radiation to create images of bones and certain internal structures.
X-rays are commonly used to:
Assess fractures or bone injuries Investigate joint pain or swelling Identify arthritis or degenerative changes Support diagnosis following trauma They are widely used because they are fast, accessible, and highly effective for assessing bone-related conditions.
A private X-ray can be used to assess many areas of the body, including: Arms, legs, hands and feet Spine Chest Joints such as hips, knees and shoulders

Wear comfortable clothing without metal around the area being examined, as metal can affect the images. You may be asked to remove jewellery or change into a gown.

 

Our radiographer will explain the examination, complete the necessary safety checks and help you into position. Depending on the area being examined, you may stand, sit or lie down while the images are taken.

 

The X-ray itself usually takes just a few minutes. Allow additional time for checking in, preparation and any waiting time if you’re attending without an appointment.

 

After your examination, you can usually leave straight away and continue your normal activities.

Private X-rays start from £70 for a single-view chest X-ray. The cost depends on the examination required. Our team will confirm the price before you proceed.

Yes. A referral from a qualified healthcare professional is required. If you don’t already have one, we can arrange this through our Fast-track referral Service.

Yes. Walk-in X-rays are available Monday to Saturday, 10am–6pm, at our Wimpole Street clinic. You don’t need to book ahead, but you must bring a referral from a qualified healthcare professional. Our team will review your referral before proceeding with the examination.

Yes. X-rays use a small amount of radiation and are considered safe when clinically appropriate.
The scan itself usually takes just a few minutes, with minimal preparation required.

Our clinics are based in the Harley Street district of central London, making access to your private X-ray London appointment straightforward and convenient.

Your X-ray images will be available through our secure online patient portal, immediately after your examination.

For standard X-rays, our consultant radiologists aim to send your report to your referring clinician within one working day. Please arrange to discuss your results and any next steps with your referring clinician.
