Sam Chong

Dr Chong was appointed Consultant Neurologist at The National Hospitals for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square and The Medway Hospital NHS Trust, Gillingham in May 2013. Prior to that, he was Consultant Neurologist at King’s College Hospital NHS Trust London where he was appointed in 1997. He was also Visiting Senior Lecturer to Guys, Kings and St Thomas’ Hospitals School of Medicine.

After qualification from University College Hospital School of Medicine, University of London, He underwent postgraduate medical training at The Royal Free Hospital and The National Hospital for Nervous Diseases, Queen Square. He was awarded the degree of Doctorate in Medicine after conducting research on pain and nerve regeneration at University College London.

Apart from running busy General Neurology clinics in Kent he is also Consultant Neurologist in the Pain Management Unit at The National Hospitals for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. While at Kings College Hospital, he was Consultant Neurologist to the Headache clinic as well as The Pain Relief Unit. He has specialist interest in managing patients with Headaches and Nerve Damage Pain. He has co-authored over 30 papers and 5 chapters in books on these subject.

He served on a number of committees and worked with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).
