Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon | Berkshire
Mr Nev Davies underwent his basic medical training at St. Mary's Hospital in London. He qualified in 2000 and after basic surgical training in and around London, moved to Oxford. Here he spent six years on the Oxford Orthopaedic training programme.
He developed an interest in adult knee surgery and trauma, as well as children’s orthopaedics for which he spent a year on a specialist fellowship in Sydney, under the guidance of Assistant Professor David Little.
On his return from Australia in September 2010, he began working at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and was appointed as a substantive consultant in November 2011. He has been involved in teaching and research throughout his career and has presented at international meetings and published work in peer reviewed journals. He has written two books on orthopaedics, both published by Oxford University Press.
Outside work, Nev is a keen golfer and has represented his home club Frilford Heath in the Oxfordshire Scratch league for the last four years.
His other passion is supporting the Welsh Rugby Team and often travels down the M4 to Cardiff to watch them play.

Consultant In Pain Medicine | Berkshire
Dr Deepak Ravindran is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, and a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. The Berkshire Pain Clinic is guided by Dr Ravindran’s philosophy of patient care. He firmly believes that pain disorders should be treated as early as possible, with the appropriate use of multidisciplinary techniques.
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon | Berkshire
Amar is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon with extensive fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery. Having qualified in 2004 from King’s College London, he completed his basic surgical training in London before specialising in Trauma and Orthopaedics. He was appointed to the Birmingham rotation where he developed an interest in shoulder and elbow surgery. He transferred his training to Scotland to be with his wife. Following this, he completed two year-long fellowships specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery. Firstly, at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and then at the internationally renowned Wrightington Orthopaedic Hospital in its prestigious Upper Limb Unit.

Consultant Spinal Surgeon | Berkshire
Mr Trichy Rajagopal qualified in 1993 and completed post-graduate orthopaedic training in India. He did his Basic Surgical Training rotation in Wales 2001-03. He completed his Specialist Registrar training in Trauma and Orthopaedics on the North-West Thames orthopaedic rotation.
As part of the rotation, he trained as a Spinal Fellow at Reading for a year. He also completed another year of Spinal Fellowship at the Centre for Spinal Studies and Surgery, Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham which is an internationally reputed spinal centre.
He worked as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the Hull and East Yorkshire NHS trust from 2011 to 2013, before taking up his current job at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
He is fully trained in all aspects of spinal surgery including cervical and lumbar degenerative conditions, tumour, trauma, and scoliosis. He has regularly participated in research activities, achieving publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at international meetings.
He is a reviewer for the spinal section of the Bone and Joint Journal.
Mr Rajagopal is married with a daughter and enjoys a variety of sports, especially cricket.
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon | Berkshire
Mr Edward Tayton has over 12 years’ experience in Orthopaedics, and now specialises in Hip and Knee surgery. He qualified from the University of London in 2002 and completed his higher surgical training in the Wessex region of Southern England.
Edward has been heavily involved in cutting edge research throughout his training. He has published over 20 research articles in top journals.
After completing his standard UK training he undertook an international fellowship in Auckland, New Zealand, where he obtained specialist training in complex hip and knee surgery. During this time he gained additional knowledge and skills in computer navigated knee replacement, revision hip and knee replacement, as well as unicompartmental (half) knee replacement. On return to the UK he underwent further sub-specialist training under the guidance of Professor Robert Middleton, learning techniques for the management of complex hip problems, including hip arthroscopy and complex revision hip surgery.
Edward is married with a young daughter and new baby son. He used to enjoy running, cycling and kitesurfing!
