Dr Nofil Mulla is a Consultant and Clinical Lead in Integrated Pain Services at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital and Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and previously at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge and St. George’s University Hospital, London. He underwent pain training at the Guy’s and St. Thomas’ University Hospital, London.
Dr Mulla has extensive experience in the multidisciplinary management of complex pain conditions and is highly qualified in the modern and advanced techniques of pain management and interventions including radiofrequency denervation. He works in multidisciplinary teams comprising physiotherapists, psychologists, specialist nurses and clinicians from various specialities with a view to achieving functional independence and holistic development for his patients. His expert interests lie in treating spinal pain, neuropathic pain, cancer pain, pelvic pain, sports injury-related pain, and fibromyalgia among other conditions.
Dr Mulla has presented scientific talks at various events and authored chapters in medical textbooks. He is an expert speaker at clinical commissioning groups, clinical governance meetings and other scientific events. He is a member of the training and assessments board, examinations tutorials organiser and faculty tutor at the Pain Faculty of The Royal College of Anaesthetists. He is a member of the British Pain Society and The International Association for Study of Pain. He is a regular speaker on various pain education topics at the London Academy of Anaesthesia and Eastern Deanery, Cambridge. He is an educational supervisor for anaesthesia trainees and a medical appraiser for consultants.
As Clinical Lead for the Integrated Pain Service, Dr Mulla oversees the development of the pain service along with clinical audit, research, and quality assurance.
