Webinar: The Menopause & Perimenopause: Physical & Mental Health Effects

Is there a link between hormones and mood? What is the menopause, the perimenopause and their effects? What kind of Hormone Replacement Therapies (HRTs) are available? How can we help patients who experience depression and mood problems?

These are just a few of the questions that Dr Monica Lascar, Functional Medicine Practitioner and Sexual Health Consultant, will be answering over the course of this interactive webinar. Join us on Tuesday 6th July to enhance your knowledge on helping the whole patient.

We will send you an email with instructions to register and gain access to the webinar 'room' 24 hours before, and a reminder 1 hour before the event.

Dr Lascar sets out to demonstrate that mental health is just as important as the patient’s physical health when it comes to the menopause and perimenopause.

She will be refreshing your knowledge on menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms both physically and mentally. Understanding hormones, we will be exploring whether there is an evidence-based link with mood, looking into the effects on our neuro-steroids and neurotransmitters. Your patients may experience reproductive depression or mood problems such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS), premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) or postnatal issues, and we will be establishing why this is and how we can help them.

We will be outlining a brief history of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and delving into the current options for your female patients.

Schedule:

  • Peri/menopause symptoms and treatments
  • Hormones and mood - is there a link?
  • Reproductive depression/mood problems
  • Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) history
  • Types of HRT

Learning Outcomes:

  • Refresh your memory on the menopause and perimenopause symptoms, both mental and physical
  • Understand the connections between hormones and mood, particularly for those patients who experience depression or other conditions
  • Learn about the range of treatment options available, such as Hormone Replacement Therapies (HRTs)
